Hi, I am Teri.
Some people walk into a room and notice the vibe. I walk in and notice the broken workflow, the duplicated tasks, and the twelve tabs open for no reason.
It’s a curse. Or a career. Hard to say.
I build systems that stop things from falling apart — or at least make the falling quieter and more organized. Spreadsheets, automations, connected apps, dashboards… all the thrilling behind-the-scenes magic that lets other people do their thing without everything catching fire.
This particular chapter started with one summer in Spain. That was the plan. Six years later, I’m still here.
Life between ocean and mountains brought a tangible peace into my life, and the national commitment to afternoon naps sealed the deal. Some places grow on you quietly. This one did.
But seasonal life has math attached to it. Summer: overload. Winter: silence. A lot of work for a few months. Then almost none. So the question wasn’t romantic. It was practical.
How do I survive the winter here? What do I actually bring to the table here?
I’m good with computers. The obvious solution was to go online. And I did. But I don’t enjoy building things for anonymous virtual teams I’ll never meet. I like the world around me.
So I looked closer.
The surf schools I worked in during summer were full of energy — and full of small inefficiencies no one had time to fix.
So instead of looking for problems somewhere else, I started solving the ones right in front of me.
I’m good with computers. Surfers, generally, try to avoid them.
They don’t open surf camps because they love spreadsheets.
They open them because they love water.
So I saw the obvious tension. They lose hours behind screens. I enjoy building systems on them.
That seemed solvable. So I started building simple programs that take the work they already do and make it faster, clearer, lighter. Nothing flashy. Nothing “tech startup.” Just structure where there was friction.
They get more time in the water. I get to solve problems. That’s the arrangement.
I don’t build for the sake of building. I build when I see something inefficient.
And once I see it, I can’t really ignore it.
